Introduction
The History of the RP community is rich and immense honestly with its capacity. I have done my best to submit a report on what I have researched regarding the community, so that anyone with a slight interest may come here and view it. In no way does it promote anything that violates the Supremacy 1914 Terms of Service, and whatever viewpoints that may be taken do not reflect the intentions of the author of this writing.
In an effort to make things slightly easier to understand, it is important to note the major organizations within the S1914 RP Community.
All Dates are estimates based on forum posts entirely.

Chapter 1- The Beginning and Birth of the Roleplaying Community on S1914, Iron Fist.
The First act towards unity within the roleplaying community was one that was not officially stated on the rp community. A group of unknown roleplaying individuals establish a group known as “The Iron Cross”. Another group by the name of 'The Blackhand Roleplay Group' was established around this time, but little is known about them, as they turned into an alliance rapidly.
The Iron Fist Roleplaying Group was the first group of roleplayers within supremacy 1914 giving themselves an official title.
This group was founded sometime in 2009 (with the first post going up in 7/8/09 to signify their de facto forum establishment)
Official In Forum Thread: forum.supremacy1914.com/showthread.php?87603-OFFICIAL-IRON-FIST-ROLEPLAYING-THREAD
Founded by Clockwork, the player base was around 50-70 strong, with high amounts of recruitment into roleplaying, as 2008 to 2010 was the height of Supremacy 1914 as a game. It is said to have pushed 200+ members at a time.
This is essentially where the first major rules of roleplaying was established by several roleplayers in coordination:
-"Stay active, play all games until the very end"
-"speak english understandably"
-"engage in rp throughout the game"
-"Cheating will not be treated"
"Iron Fist games aren't supposed to play with the sole purpose to win.."
-Azoreus regarding how rounds should go on.
"let the players build the story by themselves while playing"
-Khazar, late 2009
Notable leadership within this organization other than Clockwork consisted of Dooped and Moldive.
-Rogues0ldier was also a large scale roleplayer within the community at this point, having won the 5th Roleplay.
-Unstopable is the first member of the Iron Fist Roleplaying community to use goldmark in rounds, and was subsequently removed from membership. Sadly enough, he was a Turk. Goddamn it man, way to ruin it XD

1/10/2010- The Beginning of the end for the Iron Fist Community.
Alexander Willis' statement: "I am happy to announce that I am resigning from this RP joint, as it has become filled with newbs that don't know how to roleplay and swear people out out of character, attack us OOC. This is no longer the RP group I remembered so long ago. I'm very displeased."
This may as well be the first instance of a player leaving by choice from Iron Fist. Around this time, more OOC bickering within Iron Fist Leadership leads to the reform era of the rp community, and certain new suggestions are made, such as one to rate a list based on the quality of roleplayer performance. Furthermore, around this time, less and less activity by the leadership of Iron Fist led to players such as Check101 to move and act in order to get work done within the community.
1/19/10- Movement for Reformations within the community, as slacking, noobs and a general sense of rp death overcame the community.
"+IF+ was the first, and is still the most well known RP group in S1914, and we want to maintain our status and raise the bar with these changes. We have been getting complaints about OOC-abuse, lack of RPing in games and general inactivity. This is NOT the group we want +IF+ to become. We pride ourselves on having high quality players who are active and dedicated to what we are doing. We are not trying to become "elitist" but rather more selective in our recruitment."
-Clockwork, On Reformation for Iron Fist (1/19/2010)
(2/1/2010)-Incorporated States applies for Iron Fist and is accepted.
The End of The Iron Cross: The Group is dissolved unofficially on 4/10/2010.
forum.supremacy1914.com/showthread.php?84053-%C2%BB%C2%BB-THE-IRON-CROSS-GROUP-OFFICIAL-THREAD-*-DISSOLVED-*&highlight=roleplay
It is noteworthy to state that roleplays of the first community were done on the 10 player map, as well as the 30 player map later on, with players actually winning the round rather than having roleplay rounds end.
(4/15/2010 - 9/01/2010) First Community Death Period
After a period of community moves to try to revive the Iron Cross as a group, unfortunately, the rp community of the forums enters its 1st Death Period, characterized by short lived, relatively dead rp rounds by fewer and fewer experienced players.
This is the End of Chapter 1 of the RP Community.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 2: The RP Warlord Era.
Between 04/05/2010 and 09/10/2010, many separate and minor scale roleplaying groups were born from the ashes of the Iron Fist. Unfortunately, most to all of these roleplay rounds ended with incredible speed, with many not even lasting 10 days. as the situation deteriorated, many groups moved to unite their individual ranks and form a large scale union, into something resembling the Iron Fist's size. During this time, Tom Lehrer, Incorporated States, Dooped and Wulfprinz focus on recruitment and training of new roleplayers into the community, with Tom Lehrer and Dooped working the hardest on this.
10-19-2009 = Just as the Iron Fist group experiences a period of inactivity, A player by the name of Himilayas establishes a small scale group called The Tibetan Roleplayer Group. With only 4 Actives, it quickly fails to get off the ground with its first roleplay round and dissolves in a month: 11-12-2009
11-16-2009 = During one of the off periods of the Iron Fist, The Global Roleplayers group is established by Malaken, a member of The Tibetan Roleplayer Group. however, this group dies on 12-22-2009 due to the inactivity of leadership. Two Roleplay rounds are made by the group during that time period.
02-16-2010 = Alliance of old roleplayers reform and build an alliance called SPECTRE from a roleplaying base. forum.supremacy1914.com/showthread.php?92891
03-06-2010 = Wulfprinz, Upon being rejected from the Iron Fist, moves to establish his own roleplayer group, named aptly, Cross of Iron.
05-01-2010 = Incorporated States moves to reestablish a "Cross of Iron" group for himself, with notable members being Tom Lehrer and Lord Malakal (Rumored to be Matthausen). It is Named Cross of Iron 1.2, and consists of certain house rules. This short term group ends when Wulfprinz brings it back into the original thread of the Cross of Iron on 05-08-2010
The Spark
Unnamed date = During an unnamed roleplaying round between 5-1-2010 and 6-11-2010, an important event occurs that will forever strain the relationship between Incorporated States and Tom Lehrer, which would later on spark a war between the rp community and the moderators of s1914.
"I know what happened. It's an ol' story. IS [incorporated states] was Germany, Tom [Tom Lehrer] was Russia.
Someone else was France, I believe maybe Dooped. IS went to war with France, Tom was allied IC [In character] to IS.
Tom moved 200k troops into IS' capital saying he was 'grouping up' to assist the western front.
Instead Tom declared war out of nowhere, took IS' capital. And the game died shortly after. IS never let it go because of how scummy it was."
"IS wasn't one to lie much about his experiences. She might've lied IC and been traitorous there.
But when it came to describing what happened in games she was always generally honest."
-Desolator General, A description of the roleplay round, and the events that occurred, (1/7/2017)
06-11-2010 = Incorporated States moves to create a "Grand Roleplayers Directory" consisting of the experienced roleplayers of the community, and is a move to establish a more united and orderly system for ranking and filing active roleplayers, With support from ChocoboKnight, francisgharding, Dooped, as well as other members of the community.
At this point, the relationship between moderators and forum roleplayers is visibly strained, as it seems that arguments tend to break out quite quickly between the two groups.
"Ah, my favorite forum cop! Can you tell me sir, did you earn that badge or just appoint yourself? ... Perhaps the concept of this was over your head, so now I have explained it. Understand?"
-Wulfprinz, a response to Tom Lehrer's Request to keep the thread on topic (12-12-2010)
As relations between the Roleplayers turned moderators and the more experienced members of the community deteriorated, more and more players on both sides had to take stands against the opposing side, leading into more and more conflict between the groups.
The Triad of terror
Baron, Tom, and Bitter
There are conflicting opinions and viewpoints regarding how the moderators of Supremacy 1914 handled roleplaying and situations related to it. Not all roleplayers disliked or had issues with staff members, however it was assumed that the "older" you were within the roleplaying community, the more hostile you were towards staff members due to having more 'risque' posts and articles on both the forums and rolelplaying rounds.
"He'd [Baron von] be the guy to bully us roleplayers whenever possible. Dropping by to taunt us passively, just enough to not get in trouble or be reported."
"Bitter was there too, though later on and he would resign by 2012. He was the first to resign out of the three if my memory serves right."
"Tom [Tom Lehrer] was second worst out of the three, his aggression against us hurt the most since he was looked up to as a roleplayer."
- Anonymous, Regarding Staff attitude towards Roleplayers (2010)
This seeded the disdain between roleplayers and staff deeply for the next few years as any roleplayer who became a staff member was looked down upon with distrust, being seen as a "traitor" in the eyes of the community.
Dooped Becomes a Moderator
Dooped, a "mild mannered and polite" roleplayer around the time of 2010, was accepted into moderatorship, and the group of experienced roleplayers, numbering around15at the time was caught unawares at the situation.
"All of us loved the guy, pretty sure there's some old guys who still like him. I remember the last time I roleplayed with Dooped, it was Bov's RP match. Bov was an old rper, great guy. Never had an issue with anybody.
Dooped roleplayed in that match but after I don't recall any other games I saw him in, I might be wrong but to my belief her quit roleplay after the match.
Claiming IRL issues got in the way, perfectly understandable."
-Desolator General, on Dooped
However, this strained the group relationship further, as it was generally accepted that there was an unofficial code of honor in place, between roleplayers who became staff and those who were not and would never be eligible for moderatorship. This "Watch out for your own", consisted of Roleplaying staff members avoiding striking other Roleplayers unless forced to by a Senior member of Supremacy 1914 staff.
"Care to your roots."
-Roleplayers Theme (late 2010)
Dooped, having become a moderator, eventually and in essence, inevitably gave a strike to the player Incorporated States over an issue, and it is believed that he could have he could have chosen to not do it, but chose to do so willingly. This situation was even more exacerbated by the fact that Desolator General was also striked for a soft swear on the supremacy 1914 forums. From then onwards, dooped was also added to a supposed group of "roleplayer moderator traitors".
For roleplayers, It was believed that being part of the Roleplaying community was a stronger bond than being part of the staff, an ideal that is continued to this day to an extent, as things are much more mixed, as many players held no outwardly visible loyalties to the game itself, and rather to the concept of roleplaying.
12-30-2010 = With three to four relatively successful rounds, Wulfprinz leaves s1914 and Cross of Iron dissolves.
09-13-2010 = Many Old Roleplaying individuals return to the community and move to establish another new large scale group to end the chaos of what this period created.
09-16-2010 = The First RP related Post on the RP forums as we know of and off of the off topic and random boards is the official post titled “What is Roleplay” READ HERE! Created by rogues0ldier, reviewing the basics of roleplaying and rp etiquette. It is the one stickied on the top of the rp threads for the entire community to see.
This is the End of Chapter 2 of the RP Community.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 3: The Creation of S.H.I.P. and the Roleplaying League
Following the Strike on Incorporated States being placed, the creation of a small scale, elite and experienced roleplayer group was established. This group known as SHIP, or "S.H.I.P." was established as a project to recreate a roleplaying community outside of the forums of supremacy 1914, in an effort to be outside the administration of the moderators of supremacy 1914 and in their opinion, outside the "watchful eye of their oppressors"
(Side note: Could have named it Ark, as in Noah's Ark of roleplayers, but whatevs bruh, you do you)
This group was established on 12/23/2011 and remained until sometime in 2012
Initial Membership:

-United101 ("The King of the Noobs" or "Noob King" became a moderator.)
The goal of SHIP (It's icon was a classic alien hover saucer) was to make a group where any topics could be discussed with complete freedom where only the best of the community would be allowed. SHIP would "abduct" the skilled roleplayers from the community and harbor them off to Ship made games. Through this technical process, SHIP effectively became the Skilled portion of the community, with a few people outside of it which were still skillful such as Larmoth.
United101 was a player that was loved among the SHIP group, as he was essentially a useful player who was able to filter out those who were not seen as appropriate while scanning for new talent. Unfortunately, this was not meant to last forever, as Tnova, an honorary member felt an immense level of guilt for slicing the roleplaying community into a section of extremely experienced and completely new. This belief that consisted in "The elitists should teach the crappy roleplayers how to roleplay" culminated in a reformation of the mothership group and the establishment of an entire united community group for roleplaying essentially bringing back the Iron Fist Era. Of course, this process was through some sort of Blackmail discussed between Incorporated States and Tnova.
Czar and Tnova became major players in the RPL, along with Fallen.
Czar never entered Ship.
He remained out- IS hated Czar till the day both of them stopped RPing.
Czar would be seen as a troll or savior many times.
Once there was a crisis in..2012 I think. Maybe later.
There was a witch hunt.
Czar had managed to make everyone think anyone could be one of his "alts"
Because 1 well known RPer was a Czar alt, with 2 other decent RPers also being "Czar alts"
It was terrible.
Nobody trusted each other and everyone was suspect.
The staff eventually got involved too because of multi-accounting and it's one of the reasons Czar's gotten banned before from the site.
At least I hope I'm correct there.
RPL was created, thus hoped to usher in a new golden age for the community.
I pretty much sat this shitfest out.
I hated it and loathed IS for giving in.
It made me question IS' leadership after.
As for why IS was leader?
"We were all feral wolves and knew no means of election. The 'leader' of us would always be the most verbally powerful. IS was assertive, aggressive, and the older guys liked her. Nobody was going to challenge IS' authority when the other older guys respected it. We were left to fall into line and all fight for IS' favor as IS became the biggest decider on who was skillful and who was not. If IS liked you, nobody questioned it, and with IS' approval came the approval of the rest of the 'pack'. Given this wasn't always the situation as lower members within the 'pack' would get into fights and arguements and feuds now and again. None of us even knew IS wasn't a dude at the time either, we wouldn't know that bit of info until nearly half a decade later."
SHIP was a conspiracy to those who weren't part of it directly.
It was supposed to be a secret.
A secret society for the community's best.
If we wanted an authentic World War 2 game with swastikas?
We did it.
Because who's going to check a normally named game out of hundreds randomly?
We could get away with that because we set up outside the forums.
Baron and his goons wouldn't check up and stalk us.
Anyway.
SRC was Tnova's baby, if I remember correct.
But before I go into that.
SHIP was the secret 'controller' of the RPL
Since Fallen was apart of it.
Think Illumanti type stuff.
the leadership of the RPL was full of people with the SHIP logo
It wasn't a coincidence.
It was all a conspiracy to keep SHIP members as top of the food chain.
Which, Tnova hated.
Which brought ANOTHER reformation.
SRC.
IS protested and claimed SHIP would still be in control until Tnova forced IS to dissolve the ship in return for some favor.
Tnova set out to dismantle the apparant 'corruption' behind the scenes and tried to make the SRC pure at heart.
Which.
Failed.
Utterly.
SRC collapsed shortly after and SHIP did not rematerialize.
Most high profile members of the SHIP (Me, IS, Joe, Ray, Komodo)
All faded after SRC died.
Tnova did too.
And that left the community in ruins.
United was still there to rally the shitty Rpers.
He was the only staff member the RPers who hated mods liked.
Even IS had no issue with him.
Me, Ray, and IS would all trade leadership role in the group after SHIP died.
With I believe Czar coming in at times as well as Tnova.
I might be missing a name in that.
11-07-2011: The RPL Role Playing League thread is the first we know of official groups of roleplayers within the history of the roleplaying threads site. One would assume it’s the first of the community’s many associations devoted to roleplaying. However, it is important that the RPL (Roleplaying league) and the SCR (Strategic Roleplaying Committee) are very similar.
The RPL is a specific group of roleplayers, led by FallenLeaves, the first of many who would try and unite this community.
The SCR is the association of all of the roleplayers within the forums community, including their associated alliances.
Later on, we will delve into the history of those other associated alliances, and the power struggle that ensues.

-Zama

-Incorporated States
-Desolator General
-Fallen Leaves
